  1. There's an awful lot of red on that top one!

Is saturday night really the busiest time southbound or is it just that the workers cost more then?

  2. I've got that wrong, haven't I - it's friday night it's open not Saturday and I guess that might be the busy time!

  3. Have I got something seriously wrong here?? Was'nt the Southbound tunnel the subject of refurbishment/upgrading since before my last four grangchildren were born? The signs in approach roads say it is now the Northbound tunnel that is getting the treatment - if so, why is the Southbound closing? Confused? We all soon will be!!

  4. The sign on the piccy to the right says "Major refurbishment N'B B'wall Tunnel - if it never closes (chart above) how are they going to do it? Stand in the (closed) southbound and lean over????

  5. Guys I know this is super confusing but the chart shows the "direction" that the tunnel is open not the actual tunnel that you will be using.
So even if you are heading Northbound you may in fact be going VIA the Southbound tunnel during this refurb!
    Got it?

  6. Just come out of tunnel travelling northbound through the southbound tunnel. Be aware, there is no access to the A13 and a very lengthy diversion.

  8. If heading northbound will signposting tell us whether we are to be routed via the southbound tunnel? And where should we leave the approach road - at the A2? If work isn't due to be finished until END 2012 dare I mention Olympics traffic? - Judy

  9. absolutely ridiculous, could they not think of making 2 tunnels near side eachother in case one closes we don't need to go all the way to other diversions, such as, london bridge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. they are apparantly considering making a new tunnel but its going to cost 100k . It gets me angry that they are considering using tax payers money to make olympic stadium for millions without a second thought just like the millenium dome and they are cant soend it on things that would make a difference.
Furthermore, they are thinking of making it a toll road to pay for the new tunnel!!!!!!!!!!!!
    absolutely DISGUSTING!!!!

  13. If the south and north is closed for full weekend closures, which way is best to go if heading from London to the M25 (South)?

  14. To everyone that needs a little help with the closure this Friday (9th July 2010)

Tunnel will only be closed in one direction. Southbound. (So you can still go North)

It starts at 5pm Friday and ends at 5am on Monday.

Use Rotherhithe Tunnel or Dartford Crossing as alternatives.

  15. Why is the Southbound still closed after 9pm ?
I have to work in the evenings going nothbound returning after or near to 9pm, what a pain this is to make a long detour via Rotherhithe tunnel to get home,as I live in Bromley Kent area.
